I have a special rapport with CATS and groom quite a few 'difficult' cats who had only ever been groomed at a Veterinary Surgery under sedation. One cat in particular proved to be an outstanding testament to my special skill at handling difficult cats. His owner called in one day and asked if I would have a go at grooming "the cat from hell" (his words not mine).. this cat was indeed very special. He had been attacked by a dog as a younster and required extensive and ongoing surgery to save his life, thereafter he would not let anyone but his owner handle him and had been to many groomers who had tried to groom him but failed, unless he was sedated. As the cat was getting on in years the owner was not happy about putting him under sedation any longer due to the risks involved.
After the cat was washed, clipped and groomed with no incidents whatsoever, the owner was simply "blown away" and walked away a very happy client. I lost count of the number of times he said "I DONT BELIEVE IT" during the proceedure, the cat was so well behaved for me he just could not believe what was happening. As a cat lover myself, I understand cat's needs and how they like to be handled, therefore I find they respond extremely well to me, my salon and the methods I use.
